Community Rules & Safety

StrangerChat connects you with a random person for live text or video chat. These rules apply to every conversation on the site.

You must be 18 or older

StrangerChat is an adults-only service. You confirm your date of birth before using the site, and video chat additionally requires identity verification. If you are under 18, please do not use this site.

Not allowed, ever

Any sexual content involving, or that could be mistaken for, a minor.
Nudity, sexual content, or sexual solicitation.
Harassment, hate speech, threats, or targeted abuse.
Recording or distributing another user's video without consent.
Impersonation, scams, spam, or advertising.
Sharing another person's private information without consent.

Reporting

Every chat has a Report button. Reports go to a moderation team who can review the report and ban the account. Bans can be temporary or permanent depending on severity. If you believe you were banned in error, use the contact details below.

What we do with reports

Reports are reviewed by human moderators. Accounts that violate these rules — especially anything involving minors — are banned and, where legally required, may be reported to the relevant authorities.
